# Thanks.io Pricing

Machine-readable pricing for Thanks.io, a direct mail platform for sending digitally handwritten postcards, full-color letters, notecards, gift cards, and magnetic postcards.

All monetary amounts are in US dollars (USD). Mail prices are per piece unless otherwise stated. Subscription fees are separate from sending costs. Rates are subject to change; verify current pricing before placing an order.

## Pricing model

- Pay a monthly plan subscription, if applicable, plus the per-piece rate for each mailer sent.
- Mail prices include printing, digitally rendered handwriting, the physical mail piece, postage, and delivery.
- No setup, onboarding, template, or account fees.
- No minimum order size: send one piece at a time.
- Full REST API access is included on every plan, including Pay as you go. Webhooks and most automation integrations require a paid plan.
- Gift card sending requires Business, Professional, or Enterprise. Gift card face value is additional to the mailing price. Pay as you go cannot send gift cards.
- International mail has separate rates listed below.

Annual subscriptions give two months free on the subscription fee, equivalent to approximately 17% off. Per-piece rates do not change with the billing cycle.

Business advertises approximately 35% savings and Professional approximately 46% savings on the US 4x6 postcard rate compared with Pay as you go. Savings vary by product.

## Nonprofit pricing (US)

Qualifying nonprofit organizations must contact Thanks.io to verify nonprofit status and access these rates. These rates are domestic only, use nonprofit postage, and are not available for multiple-page letters. Postage, handwriting, and delivery are included.

The subscription plan still determines feature access. Nonprofit gift card sends require Business, Professional, or Enterprise; the gift card face value is additional.

## Calculating total cost and choosing a plan

For monthly billing:

`Total monthly cost = subscription fee + sum(quantity × applicable per-piece rate) + delivery upgrades + additional letter pages + gift card face values + usage-based data services.`

For example, 100 US 4x6 postcards at the published base rates cost:

The pricing page gives general guidance to consider Business above 200 pieces per month and Professional above 2,000 pieces per month. The actual least-expensive plan depends on the mix of products and mail classes, so compare total subscription plus usage cost rather than relying only on these thresholds.

Business-to-Professional break-even volume for a single product is:

## Billing, credits, and FAQs

### How does API billing work?

Pre-fund the account balance. Each piece sent through the API deducts the plan's applicable per-piece rate in real time. Basic REST API access is included on every plan. See the [API documentation](https://docs.thanks.io) for request and billing details.

### Are there setup fees?

No. The pricing model is the subscription fee, if any, plus the per-piece sending rate and any selected add-ons. There are no onboarding, template, or account fees.

### Is postage included?

Yes. Published mail rates cover printing, digitally rendered handwriting, the physical piece, postage, and delivery. Use the appropriate US or international table; gift card face value and selected add-ons remain additional.

### Is there a minimum order?

No. A single piece can be sent. Within a plan, the published per-piece rate is the same regardless of batch size.

### Can a subscription be cancelled?

Yes. Cancel from the dashboard at any time. There are no cancellation fees.

### Are purchased account credits refundable?

Purchased credits are non-refundable and do not expire. Promotional credits, including the $10 signup credit, are valid for 90 days.

### What happens if mail is undeliverable?

Thanks.io runs NCOA (National Change of Address) processing on every send. Pieces returned as undeliverable are automatically credited to the account balance.

### Are there nonprofit or agency discounts?

Verified nonprofits can access the nonprofit rates above. Agencies managing multiple client accounts can contact Thanks.io for white-label and volume arrangements.

### Does annual billing change mail prices?

No. Annual billing provides two months free on the subscription fee; per-piece rates remain the same.
